It is a good place to relax and commune with nature. The dense forest combined with the blowing sea breeze gives the area a cool atmosphere ideal for relaxation and deep meditation. The sound of birds and insects create a symphony calming your nerves and senses. No wonder Rizal had a great time during his exile in Dapitan. The area is well maintained. Grasses are perfectly manicured and falling leaves are regularly removed.

Some historical parks have seen better days. But this one is really lovely and enriching as well. It features the compound where Rizal was exiled. It showcases excellent and well-maintained replicas of his clinic, classroom, kitchen, residence and water system among others. It is a historical place but it also serves as a nature walk as it is filled with old trees and is beside the coast. You can go inside the structures. There is also a separate museum featuring artifacts from Rizal's life in Dapitan. This is a very good place to visit.

People should visit this place. You can see a lot of Jose Rizal's personal things. It's a good place to just stroll around since the place is covered with trees so it's cooler even in the afternoon. Great place to go. I recommend it.

Very memorable and historical site of national hero DrJose Rizal when he was exiled in Dapitan. I thought the place is huge and would take a day, but it's not and you can see it all in one or couple of hours, if you're not rushing. Thanks to the trees and nearby sea, the area seems cool. Glad that the govt/lgu converted and preserved this place for all generations of Filipinos to see

Very well maintained park and shrine. Entrance is completely FREE. We were welcomed by a guide who was able to tell us very interesting facts about our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. He was also kind to be our photographer hehe so we give him a tip ❤️ There are also photographers with their own camera that will print your photos and offer them for 150php per photo (not compulsory). Very educational and definitely worth the visit if you are in the area.

I really wanted to step foot in this historical place a long time ago and it did came true last week. I went on a bike I rented from Travelbee, or probably you can just ride a tricycle when going there. Entrance is absolutely free but the museum opens from 9-4pm only and closed on Mondays. I learned so many things about Rizal and his time of exile in Dapitan in this place. BTW, there’s a pasalubong and souvenir shops outside.

We had a wonderful time exploring this place of our National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal Museum…you can see lots of historical landmarks that you can read on based on his story… This has been kept in honor of his bravery to save us from being conquered, which remain forever in our hearts and in history that will be taught in generations to come. As we actually have subject and learn about his story how he manage everything, travel the world asked for help the reason why we’re being freed! But those belongs to the past but yet, forever grateful for him of his courage to save us!🇵🇭

The Rizal shrine is closed every Mondays but the souvenir shops are still open. They offer several items that are labelled with Dakak or Dapitan. We got an oversized mug for P270 and a cat's eye necklace for P80.
